China's Top Hospitals and Specialists — By Name
You are not choosing a country. You’re choosing one person who is going to make decisions about your body while you’re unconscious. So we show you that person: full name, hospital, department, title, subspecialty, training, and how many of your operation they perform in a year. Then you choose, and we arrange it.
How to read a Chinese doctor's title
Chinese hospitals run a formal rank ladder: resident, attending, associate chief physician, chief physician. “Professor” and “department director” sit alongside it. These are positions with published criteria — years in practice, publications, teaching, procedure volume — awarded by a national system, not chosen by the doctor and not printed on a business card at will.
Grade-A tertiary is the top tier of a three-grade hospital classification. It means the hospital takes the referrals that other hospitals can’t handle, which is why the professors, the case volume and the expensive equipment concentrate there.
We’re telling you this so you can check us. Once you understand the ladder, “top hospital” and “leading surgeon” stop being marketing phrases and become facts you can verify — including every claim we make about ourselves on this website.
What's in every expert profile
And the next date they’re actually available.
How we choose hospitals — and what gets them removed
Our criteria are published, which is unusual in this business, and the reason is straightforward: a claim you can’t check is worth nothing.
A hospital enters our network on accreditation, case volume in the relevant specialty, outcome data where it exists, international patient infrastructure and English capability. It leaves on patient outcomes, on how it treats our patients when things go wrong, or on any attempt to pay us for referrals.
We take no commission from any hospital. Our fee comes from you, which is why our ranking can be about clinical fit. Most companies in this position earn on the back end, from the hospital — which means the hospital they recommend for you is the one that pays them. Read our criteria and hold us to them.
Waiting times, published
So we publish the actual next available date on every profile, and you get it in writing before you pay us anything. If it’s five months and you can’t wait five months, we’ll show you the other three surgeons who do the same operation next week and let you weigh it yourself.
Nobody else in this industry will show you that number before you’ve paid. Ask yourself why.
Frequently asked questions
Can I choose my own doctor, or do you assign one?
You choose. We shortlist on clinical fit and show you our reasoning, but the decision is yours and you can ignore our shortlist entirely.
Do the doctors speak English?
Some do, some don’t, and we’d rather not oversell it. A trained medical interpreter attends every consultation as standard regardless — that’s not a fallback, it’s the design. A surgeon’s job is to be excellent at surgery.
What does "Grade-A tertiary" actually mean?
The top tier of China’s three-grade hospital classification. Highest complexity, highest volume, most equipment, and the place other hospitals refer their hardest cases to.
Public hospital or private — how do you choose?
For serious and complex cases, often yes — a public Grade-A tertiary hospital is where the difficult cases, the case volume and the professors concentrate, and volume is one of the best predictors of surgical outcome there is. For screening, dentistry, elective and cosmetic work, or when comfort and privacy matter more, a private or international hospital is frequently the better choice. We match you to the place that fits your condition, public or private, and we take no referral fee either way.
Can I see the doctor before I decide?
Yes. Book a video consultation and speak to them for thirty minutes before you commit to anything at all.
